Finding a Product

There are thousands of products on the Internet to promote.  Finding the right one can be fairly easy.  The best way to start is to decide what you like.  By this I mean you usually want to promote a product that reflects you.  Consider your hobbies, passions, what you usually find yourself talking about.  This generates excitement about what you are promoting.  This excitement usually carries into your web copy and how you approach promotion.

Next it's reality time.  You need to do some research to see what is available, and if it is profitable.  You may be fascinated by the Ford Edsel, but research may show that there is no product available.  You may be passionate about red, white, and blue striped roses, but the products you find only pay their affiliates ten cents a sale.

You will also need to see if there is a profitable market for your product.  It's no use trying to sell anything if no one is buying.  Check places like E bay, see if people are buying things related to your interest.  Check forums, see what the "buzz" is.  See what problems people have and try to find a product that answers their pain.  Finding something that solves a problem or answers a question will pay big dividends later. Also be sure it's something people are willing to spend money for.  An example might be training a dog.  If you search "dog training" and look on the right of the page, you will see a column of ads.  This means people are paying for advertising, which means people are buying.  If you only saw one or 2 ads, then this may not be a profitable market.

So, how do you find a product?  One way is to use Google.  Simply type in the subject you are interested in a "+" sign and "affiliate".  You will then get a list of people with affiliate programs for you to choose form.  So if I am interested in an affiliate program for e books, then I type in: ebooks + affiliate.  I can then choose from the list.  This allows you to find physical as well as electronic products.  Although physical products can be promoted on the web, it's usually easier to stick to electronic products.

An easier way to find an electronic product is Clickbank.  Clickbank is the biggest clearinghouse of information products in the world.  Just go to www, click on the "Buy Products" tab type in your subject and you can see  all the products available.  Another advantage is usually each product has an affiliate program that is managed by Clickbank.  This means you don't have to worry about getting paid.

One thing you will need to take full advantage of what Clickbank has to offer is an account.  It's really easy to set up and I will show you how next.  Let's go to Getting Your Clickbank Account click here>>>
