Autoresponder Basics
Well,
we've come a long way now. You have a product and a web
site to promote it. Now just a few more details and we
are ready to go.
In order for you to make the best of your
efforts, you need to collect the names of your prospects so
you can sell to them later. You could just direct them
to the sales page of your chosen produce, but then that would
do you no good after that. The owner of the product will
get all the benefit form your hard work. After all, you
have found the prospect and "pre-sold" them on the
product. Why should the owner get the repeat business
from them when you can share the profits?
So how do you do this? You
get an autoresponder. As always there are a number
of choices to make. The top autoresponders are Awebber (awebber.com) and
Getresponse (www.getresponse.com).
If you don't want to pay monthly fees and feel that you can
manage your own autoresponder you might try Ultimate
AutoResponder at http://www.8bitpublishing.com/uar/
Now you might be asking just what is an
autoresponder and what can it do? For one thing it can
provide the forms you need for your prospect to give you their
information before they can get to your website. Just
sign up with the autoresponder of your choice, copy some HTML
to paste in your squeeze page (more on this later) and you
have a form they will have to fill out to get your
information. One word of caution: whatever solution you
choose be sure it has a "double opt in.: This insures
that you will stay free from being accused of spam. This
works by having your prospect fill out your form, then they
are sent an e mail automatically that they have to respond to
before they can access your site.
The other feature of an autoresponder is
the ability to send timed e mails to your customers. (That's
why it's called an autoresponder, it automatically sends e
mails for you.) This is important for marketing to your
customers later, and to convince them to buy the product your
site is promoting. Once they sign up set up letters to
go our every few days for a few weeks. These can be
simple, just thanking them for joining you site, provide more
information, or other useful things. You also want to
use this as an opportunity to build a relationship with your
list. This can lead to sales later. Click here to learn about squeeze
